I made a trip to the store yesterday to put together this shopping cart for a family of five, living in one of the poorest countries in the world, Ethiopia - it will be shipped off today.
I wanted to cover some basic life necessities, but also provide some additional value for all three kids because that's just who I am - dedicated to bringing value to other people's lives by creating solutions to problems they are facing.
Mom wanted to be able to make a warm blanket for her youngest one. She had everything but can always use more fabric, so I got her some more.
𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱 #𝟭 (girl, oldest): Is in school and said she would love a new diary to write in. I got her two of different sizes. Her favorite color is yellow and her second favorite pink, so I also got her a few pairs of yellow socks. She also gets an electric toothbrush with a power converter since they use different voltage over there.
𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱 #𝟮 (boy, second oldest): Isn't in school but I got him a stuffed animal. He loves Rudolph and that's what I got him. He also gets an electric toothbrush with a power converter and some blue socks (which are his favorite color).
𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱 #𝟯 (boy, youngest): Dogs are his favorite animals so that's what I got him. He also gets a new pair of shoes. He will also get a new blanket from Mom, made with the fabric that I am sending her.
As I’ve gotten older, to me Christmas has become more about the kids more than anything. Because I truly do believe that there are very few better things in this world than watching kids experience Christmas. I am blessed to have this opportunity to bring relief and creates smiles for this family this Christmas.
